Bangladesh qualified for the final of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup on Friday with a comfortable four-wicket win over India in the semi-finals. In the final, Bangladesh will face the challenge of UAE, who caused an upset by beating Pakistan by 11 runs in the other semi-final. The Indian batsmen failed to adjust to the double speed of the pitch. Despite half-centuries from Mushir Khan (50) and Murugan Abhishek (62), the team were bowled out for 188 in 42.4 overs. Maruf took four wickets and shook India’s top order.
Chasing the target, Bangladesh also lost three wickets for 34 runs in 10 overs, but Islam put on 138 runs for the fourth wicket with Ahrar Amin (44 off 101 balls) apart from playing an innings of 94 runs off 90 balls. This partnership ensured the victory of the team. Bangladesh achieved the target by losing six wickets in 42.5 overs.
After being sent in to bat first, the Indian team got off to a poor start, losing three wickets for 13 runs and six wickets for 61 runs in seven overs. After this, Mushir and Abhishek added 84 runs for the seventh wicket to get the team out of a difficult situation but the innings could not go any further after this partnership was broken.
Earlier, the UAE team was bowled out for 193 runs in 47.5 overs against Pakistan. He defended the target brilliantly by dismissing Pakistan for 182 runs in 49.3 overs. The Pakistan team won all three of their matches in the league stage.
