Foreign players will be in high demand during the IPL 2024 auction but franchises will also bid heavily on Indian capped players. According to a release issued by the BCCI for the auction to be held in Dubai on Tuesday (December 19), a total of 1166 players registered themselves in this year’s auction, of which 333 names have been shortlisted. A total of 77 players will be picked up in 10 teams through this auction.
In the list of 333 players, 214 are Indian and 119 are foreign players. There are 116 players who have played international cricket, while 215 players are uncapped. Two players are also from allied countries. However, there is no substitute for higher capped players in the auction pool, which may make some players’ luck shine. Last month, several franchises released some big capped players, so other teams have a good chance to include them in their squad.
The IPL 2024 mini auction to be held in Dubai has 14 Indian players in the total pool of 333 players. Of the 14 Indian capped players, only three – Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur and Harshal Patel – have kept their base price at Rs 2 crore. Shardul Thakur and Harshal Patel could be bid heavily. The base price of 11 players is 50 lakh rupees. The 333 players are divided into 19 different sets, including batsmen, all-rounders, fast bowlers, spinners, wicketkeepers and a subset of capped and uncapped players.
Players with a base price of 50 lakhs
Varun Aaron, KS Bharat, Siddharth Kaul, Shivam Mavi, Karun Nair, Manish Pandey, Chetan Sakaria, Barinder Saran, Jaydev Undkat, Hanuma Vihari and Sandeep Warrier.
