Airlines Refund Rights: These days the entire North India including Delhi-NCR is in the grip of cold and dense fog. Visibility has dropped to zero in many areas due to fog. The biggest impact has been on traffic. These days many flights are running late and some have to be diverted. Many flights have also been cancelled. Due to which the passengers are facing a lot of trouble and they are venting their anger on the ground staff. His videos are also being widely shared on social media. Let us tell you that there are many reasons like bad weather, lack of planes and lack of crew due to which the flights are affected. In such a situation, if you are missing your connecting flight or want to cancel your flight due to delay or the airline has canceled your flight, then you need not panic. Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued guidelines regarding compensation. Today we are telling you what are the refund rules in these cases-
In case of flight cancellation-
If your flight is going to be canceled for any reason, as per rules, the airline company will inform the passenger at least two weeks before the date of travel or arrange an alternative flight or give a refund. If the flight is canceled 24 hours before the scheduled time, the airline has to arrange an alternative flight or refund the ticket.

If the flight is late–
Late flights are common these days. In such a situation, as per the rules, the airline has to provide meals and refreshments to its customers. Apart from this, if the flight is delayed by more than 24 hours or more than six hours, then the airline has to make accommodation arrangements for the passengers.
In case of overbooking-
In case of overbooking, the airline has to arrange an alternative flight for the passenger. This flight cannot be more than one hour later than the first flight. If the airline arranges another flight within 24 hours, the passenger will get a 200 percent refund of the ticket as compensation. However, this compensation cannot exceed 10 thousand rupees.

Refunds to 2.69 lakh passengers in November
Let us tell you that in November, 2.69 lakh passengers were compensated by airlines due to flight delays. About 40 thousand passengers were compensated for ticket cancellation and 1231 passengers were compensated for denied boarding.
