Both Israel and Ukraine are facing a state of war. The football teams of the two countries may face each other for a place in Euro 2024. The European Football Championship (Euro Cup 2024) will be played between June 14 and July 14 next year. According to Thursday’s play-off draw, both national teams have been placed on the same qualifying road and a potential decider will be held in March.
Israel will face Iceland in the play-off semi-finals while Ukraine will face Bosnia-Herzegovina. The 12 teams that qualified for the play-offs will play six semi-final matches on March 21, while the three finals are scheduled to take place on March 26. Due to the war, neither Israel nor Ukraine can currently host domestic matches. If these two reach the final of the playoffs, they will be able to play in a neutral country.
In the other play-off bracket, Wales will host Finland and the winner of that match will host either Poland or Estonia. Georgia or Luxembourg will have to host Euro 2004 champions Greece or Kazakhstan. Germany is hosting Euro Cup 2024. Euro Cup 2024 matches are to be played in 10 cities. The matches will be played in Berlin, Munich, Dortmund, Stuttgart, Gelsenkirchen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Cologne and Leipzig.
In which total 24 teams will participate. Germany has already qualified as hosts. Russia will not be able to participate in Euro Cup 2024. UEFA suspended the Russian team after attacking Ukraine. In Euro Cup 2024, 24 teams will be divided into six groups with four teams in each group. The final match will be played on July 14 in Berlin. Italy is the defending champion of the Euro Cup, having won the 2020 Euro Cup. Italy defeated England in the final.
