‘It looked useless…’ when mocked in front of the actor of his own superhit web series! Why did you remain silent even after listening?

Mumbai: Mirzapur is counted among the most successful and viewers’ favorite web series in the country. From its characters to its story, the audience showered its love on it. Now the third part of this web series is coming soon. But, did you know that this web series starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey and Shweta Tripathi was not liked by a film director and producer and the filmmaker himself said so. Yes, ’12th Fail’ director Vidhu Vinod Chopra himself commented on his web series in front of actor Vikrant Massey, who plays Bablu Bhaiyya in the web series, saying that he found Mirzapur so ‘useless’ that he wanted it. Watch its second episode. Couldn’t even think of seeing it.

Vikrant Massey played the role of Bablu Bhaiyya in Mirzapur and the series and Vikrant Massey’s role were well liked by the audience. But, Vidhu Vinod Chopra himself told Vikrant Massey that he does not like this web series and this was revealed by Vikrant Massey himself. While talking to Llantop Cinema, Vikrant Massey mentioned the entire incident and said that the director of ‘Parinda’ had told him in front that he did not like his series.

Recalling his first meeting with Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Vikrant Massey said that when he got a call from the director’s office, he felt that someone was playing a joke on him. When he met Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the director spoke to him about Mirzapur saying – ‘He said I haven’t seen much of your work. I have only seen a few things. You have done a film like ‘Ganj’, my wife used to praise your work.

Vikrant went on to tell how Vinod, talking about Mirzapur, called the series useless. He said- ‘I used to get tired of seeing this other thing too. Mirzapur, very useless. I felt that the whole country is loving this web series. Everyone is taking photos calling me Bablu Bhaiya. But, the filmmaker did not stop here. He said I tried to watch his second episode but couldn’t. I half closed it.

In Mirzapur, Vikrant Massey’s character Bablu Bhaiya dies in the first season itself. Along with Bablu, his brother Guddu Pandit’s wife Sweety also dies. After which Guddu Pandit sets out to avenge the death of his brother and wife. The second season of Mirzapur revolves around Munna Bhaiya (Divyendu), Kalin Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal) and Golu Gupta (Shweta Tripathi).
