Jawaan’s eyebrow-raising dialogue was not part of the script, did Shah Rukh Khan plan to respond?

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan is all over the place these days for his film ‘Jawaan’. It has been just 1 week since the release of the film and so far it has collected more than 360 crores. A dialogue of Jaawan has been in the news since the release of the film. Various speculations are being made regarding this. Viewers say that whatever Shah Rukh Khan could not openly say about his son Aryan, he has said through this film. This dialogue is – ‘Speak to the father before you touch your son.’ Meanwhile, the dialogue writer of the film has made a big revelation about this dialogue.

Jaawan’s dialogue writer Sumit Arora says that the dialogue ‘Talk to the father before touching the son’ was not initially part of the film’s script. Shah Rukh Khan’s dialogue in Jawaan grabbed the attention of fans on the first day of its release. Fans on social media started linking this dialogue of Shah Rukh Khan as a reaction to his son Aryan Khan’s arrest.

So how did this dialogue become part of the film? Sumit Arora himself has told the story behind this. Talking about it, Arora said- ‘This is a story that will make you believe in the magic of film making. That dialogue was never originally in our script. The moment where SRK sir’s character says the line was always there and we all knew it was a powerful moment even without any dialogue, but during the shoot it was felt that there should be a line, that this man needs to say something. ‘

Arora continues – ‘I was present on the set so I was called and the first line that came out of my mouth considering the circumstances was – ‘Talk to the father before you touch your son.’ It felt like it was the most obvious and most appropriate thing to say at that moment. It fits perfectly. Director Atla and SRK sir both felt it was right and the shot was taken.

Directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, Jawane stars Shah Rukh Vikram Rathore and his son Azad in dual roles. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone (special role), the film sheds light on several social and political issues. Arora said that the team did not expect people to like the dialogue this much.
