UPSC Success Story: Odisha’s Kamya Mishra has set an example for others by clearing the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) exam in her very first attempt. There are very few candidates who crack the tough UPSC exam in the first attempt. Let’s know about IPS officer Kamya Mishra.
A resident of Odisha, Kamya has been a bright student since childhood. He secured 98.6% marks in the class 12th examination. In which she became the regional topper.
Let us tell you that Kamya Mishra did her primary education from KIIT International School, Odisha and then she did her graduation degree in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University. In the third year of college, he decided that he would prepare for UPSC. After which he started preparations.
The journey was not easy for Kamya Mishra, she knew that UPSC preparation is tough and it is not worth preparing without planning. He made a strategy for preparation and decided how much time to devote to each subject. He made different strategies for prelims, mains and interview. He also practiced a lot of answer writing for Mains. He believes that no exam can be cleared without practice.
Kamya Mishra took the UPSC exam for the first time in the year 2019 and cleared the exam with 172nd rank in her first attempt. He attained the rank of Indian Police Service (IPS) at the age of 22. After completing IPS training, he was initially allotted Himachal cadre, later transferred to Bihar cadre. His first posting in Bihar was as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Patna.
