Ankit Gupta is a talented actor who has recently been getting a lot of positive attention and appreciation from fans. Gupta recently completed shooting for her show Jununiyat in Chandigarh and is now back in Mumbai. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Ankit Gupta talks in detail about his struggling days in the industry. Meanwhile he talked about leaving home at a young age to earn some money and many other experiences.
Ankit Gupta remembered the old days
The Udaria actor shared that living in Mumbai after leaving Indore was very challenging for him. It became difficult for him to live in Mumbai as it was very expensive compared to Indore. The rent for a simple 1 BHK in Mumbai was between 20 to 25K. This was the whole month’s salary. He also stated that the lifestyle in Mumbai is quite different and expensive compared to other cities. It was difficult for them to even bear the travel expenses. “I didn’t audition because I didn’t have money to travel from one place to another,” he said.
Left home at a young age
Ankit Gupta revealed that his parents wanted him to do NDA. They also called him to take the exam. However, he had no idea whether he was eligible for it or not as he tore up the papers on his way back home. Finally he told his parents that he wanted to act. The family members wanted Ankit to have a steady job. Ankit left home at the age of seventeen when his family refused.
Ankit revealed that he got a job after reaching Indore but had bad experiences in two companies due to which he was not even paid for his work. Ankit said, maybe he felt that I was not performing well. After this I worked in a call center. Here I got my first salary of Rs 10,000. I was very happy because I had never seen so much money.”
Ankit Gupta on Balika More and Sadda Haq
Ankit got a role in Balika Doohi and earned Rs 4000 for his role. He reached the set by bus. He was very embarrassed when someone recognized him on the show. He continued, “Back then, I was very young. Now I think one can take a rickshaw, a bus or anything else if one is comfortable.”
When he got Sadda Haq and the show became popular, his life changed. Ankit said that after the show, his life became stable.
