Pat Cummins with the World Cup Trophy: Australia captain Pat Cummins poses with the trophy on a restaurant cruise boat on the Sabarmati river here on Monday, a day after winning the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. Australia won the ODI World Cup for a record sixth time by defeating hosts India by six wickets in the final match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. Accompanied by International Cricket Council (ICC) officials, Cummins arrived in the morning at Akshar River Cruise, a floating restaurant on the prestigious Sabarmati ‘riverfront’. He had a photo shoot with the World Cup trophy here.

Suhag Modi, Director, Akshar Travels Pvt Ltd, which manages the cruise restaurant, said, “It is a matter of great pride for all of us that the ICC chose this iconic location on the Sabarmati riverfront for its official photo shoot. In some of the pictures taken by the official ICC photographer, the 30-year-old fast bowler can be seen standing on the deck with the World Cup trophy, with a magnificent view of the Atal Bridge behind him.
Modi said that Cummins also gave an interview on the cruise. According to him, the Australian captain (Pat Cummins after a photo shoot at the Sabarmati River) said, ‘Wow, what an amazing place.’ He said, βThe Australian captain was very impressed by the scene. We informed them about the riverfront and Atal Bridge. They told us that this place is similar to Sydney Harbor (in Australia).
In August 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 300-meter long Atal Bridge for pedestrians and cyclists over the Sabarmati River. It is named after former Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
