Dehadarai wrote to the CBI and Nishikant Dubey
Lawyer Jai Anant Dehdrai recently wrote to the CBI and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey claiming that Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra took bribe from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament. Due to these complaints, the Ethics Committee of Parliament investigated Moitra.
Moitra appeared on the committee’s notice on November 2
Mahua Moitra appeared on the committee’s notice on November 2. During the appearance, he allegedly raised a ruckus in front of the media, accusing committee chairman Vinod Kumar Sonkar and other members of asking derogatory questions. Opposition MPs present at the committee meeting with Mahua alleged that the committee asked personal questions, after which they boycotted the meeting. Mahua later also said that the ethics committee was asking her dirty questions and she was ‘disrobed’.
Committee chairman Sonkar later said that Mahua created a ruckus to avoid questions. The committee has now convened a meeting on November 9. It is believed that the inquiry report may be adopted in this meeting.
