Bloomberg News reported this on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter. Discussions are underway between Altman and at least one board member, Adam D’Angelo, with the report adding that the former CEO may return as a director on the transitional board.
OpenAI did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in an interview with CNBC on Monday that he is open to employees staying at OpenAI or coming to Windows Maker. He said the regime of Chatgate’s creators needs to change, regardless of where Altman ends up.
