12 children went missing after a boat capsized in Bagmati River in Muzaffarpur on Thursday

A boat overturned in Bagmati River in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur on Thursday. The boat carrying 34 children capsized in the river. 12 children are still missing and nothing is known about them. While many children have been saved. NDRF and SDRF have resumed search operations from this morning. Even after verification by the district administration, 10 children did not reach home, now they are being searched for. All the children were going to school in the boat when the boat overturned near Madhupur Patti ghat of Bagmati river on Thursday.

According to the information, about one thousand people live in Madhurpatti village. Boats are the only support for these people. They have no other option to cross the river. There is only one primary school in the village. People here have to cross the river to go to other places for further studies and to get ration. The people of the village have requested the leaders several times to build a bridge but their demand has not been heard. Now once again the incident of boat accident has come to light. A rescue operation is now underway to find the missing children.

After the accident, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar told reporters that senior district officials, including the district magistrate, have been directed to visit the accident site and said help and assistance would be provided to the families of the children. CM Nitish Kumar said, “Rescue operations are underway… I have asked the concerned district magistrate to investigate the matter immediately. The state government will provide all assistance to the affected families.” A team of State Disaster Response Force is also at the spot for relief and rescue operations.
