Read on the application
There is a South African batsman who has an unwanted world record to his name. This is none other than David Miller, the most capped player in white-ball international cricket, who never played Test cricket. Now a similar record has been created by South African fast bowler Nandre Berger, who has become the shortest player to debut in all three formats of international cricket.
Andre Berger made his debut against India first in T20 Internationals, then in ODI Internationals and now in Test cricket. Andre Berger is the second player after New Zealand’s Peter Ingram to debut in all three formats of international cricket and play at least one match in just 13 days. The list also includes an Indian player, but he created history for India by making his debut in all three formats in 15 days. Very few players are lucky enough to make their debut in all three formats in such a short span of time.
India’s Mukesh Kumar is third in this list after Berger and Ingram. It debuted in all three formats between July 20 and August 3 this year. Whereas, Berger has participated in all three formats from 14 December to 26 December. Apart from this, Ingram made his debut in all three formats in the year 2010 between February 3 and February 15. Fourth on the list is Zimbabwe’s Dion Meyers, who made his debut in all three formats of the game in 16 days. Pakistan’s Ajaz Cheema played ODIs, Tests and T20 matches in 2011 during the same period.
‘How will Kagiso Rabada reach 400 wickets if the South African team plays only two Test matches in a year?’
Nandre Berger played the last match of the three-match T20 international series against India and took 1 wicket. After this, he played in the three-match One Day International series and managed to take 5 wickets. For this reason, he was selected for the Test series and took two wickets in the first innings of the first match. The stake is not over yet. He still has a chance to take a wicket or two, as India have two wickets left in the first innings. Out of 8 wickets, 5 wickets have been taken by Kagiso Rabada, 2 wickets by Burger and one wicket by Marco Janssen.
