Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said that the Finance Ministry’s focus is not only on raising GST revenue, but efforts are also on to bring all business entities under its ambit. She was addressing an event organized to open 12 GST Facilitation Centers in Gujarat. These centers will help the business entities to get GST registration without any errors and their problems will be solved.

Sitharaman said, ‘GST collection is increasing continuously. GST It has reduced the tax rate on many items as compared to earlier. Traders know that they will not be double taxed under GST, as was the case earlier. Due to which GST collection is increasing. He said that many organizations still prefer to remain outside the ambit of GST and are not part of the organized economy. The minister said, ‘Why should they come under the ambit of tax? Not because they will tax me, but for the real strength of the economy… we are only getting some people, not all… and the economy can only be fully organized when everyone is involved.

He said that staying away from the organized economy is neither good for the country nor for the individuals. The Finance Minister said that if business organizations GST If you are not coming into the field, it means you are missing out on potential buyers. Sitharaman continued, ‘Now I want to focus on tax collection, the figures of which are increasing every year and every month… but at the same time we should also focus on getting more and more organizations and businesses involved. The country should benefit from a transparent tax system that benefits everyone. In this function, five people who uploaded the GST bill on the government portal were awarded a prize of Rs 10 lakh each on the basis of a draw.

Sitharaman congratulated these winners and said that every customer should get their bill. “I appreciate those who uploaded their bills but didn’t win the lottery,” she said. The program was attended by Gujarat Finance Minister Kanu Desai and officials of the state’s GST department.
