Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday accused the Congress of pushing the country towards slavery and making a malicious attempt to tamper with history. Addressing a public meeting in Shujalpur in Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur district, Adityanath said that the Congress had given the country terrorism, extremism, Naxalism and corruption. He said that the Congress is mischievously trying to push the country into slavery, while the BJP is known for maintaining the country’s self-respect and self-confidence.

The BJP leader also accused the Congress of denying the existence of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna and calling them legends. He said that for Congress the history of India begins with Jawaharlal Nehru.

The Chief Minister referred to the development of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and similar works at places associated with Lord Shiva like Kedarnath, Mahakaleshwar and Somnath and said that after a long wait of 500 years, a Ram temple is also being constructed in Ayodhya. The Abhishek ceremony of the Ram temple will take place on January 22 next year.
The Chief Minister alleged that the Congress calls itself ‘accidental’, which means that Congressmen are born as an accident. He said that his generation is fortunate as it is witnessing India’s transition into a new era. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the India of this new era is becoming competent, strong and confident.
Yogi praised Shivraj
Adityanath praised his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Shivraj Singh Chouhan and said the BJP’s ‘double engine governments’ had taken Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh out of the BIMARU (backward) category, while Rajasthan and Bihar were still struggling on this front.
