Obama said Israel’s actions could undermine international support.
Washington: The war between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas has intensified. The entire world is watching this war. Meanwhile, former US President Barack Obama said on Monday that some of Israel’s actions in the war against Hamas, such as cutting off food and water in Gaza, could change Palestinian attitudes and harden them.
Obama said such a move could undermine international support for Israel, according to news agency Reuters. In rare comments on an active foreign policy crisis, Obama said any Israeli military strategy that ignores the human toll of war ‘could eventually backfire.’

Obama said, ‘The Israeli government’s decision to cut off food, water and electricity to the civilian population in Gaza not only risks an escalating humanitarian crisis, but could harden Palestinian attitudes for generations and erode global support for Israel. It could also play into the hands of Israel’s enemies and undermine long-term efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
It is known that more than 1,400 people were killed in an attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, since then Israel has bombarded Gaza heavily with airstrikes. Gaza officials say more than 5,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes. Obama condemned the Hamas attacks and reiterated his support for Israel’s right to defend itself, warning of the dangers to civilians in such wars.
