The second match of the Australia vs Pakistan three-match Test series has taken a very exciting turn. At one point on the third day of the match, Pakistan looked to be in a very strong position, but an error by Abdullah Shafiq put Pakistan on the backfoot. Pakistan conceded Australia four wickets for 16 in the second innings and the score could have been 46 for five, but Abdullah Shafiq dropped a simple catch to Mitchell Marsh at slip off Amir Jamal. At that time Mitchell Marsh was playing on 20 runs and later got out after scoring 96 runs. Pakistan’s love story continued with a dropped catch and thus Australia made a strong comeback at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Australia lost the fifth wicket for 169 runs. Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh combined to bring Australia back into the match. Former Australian cricketer Mark Waugh was present in the commentary box when Abdullah Shafiq dropped the catch and the way he mocked the dropped catch is going viral on social media.

Mark Waugh said that the way Abdullah Shafiq was trying to take the catch looked like a crocodile trying to catch the ball with its jaws open. Talking about the match, Australia scored 318 runs in the first innings in response to which Pakistan were bowled out for 264 runs in the first innings. The way Pakistan gave Australia four blows in the second innings, it seemed that Australia would be restricted to within 100 runs. Usman Khawaja returned to the pavilion after being caught out by wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan off Shaheen Shah Afridi in the very first over. After this, Afridi gave another big blow to Australia by dismissing Marnus Labuschagne in his next over. David Warner and Travis Hayden were dismissed by Mir Hamza on two consecutive balls in the sixth over.
