Pakistan cricket team’s performance in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has been disappointing after the first two matches. The Babar Azam-led team got off to a great start in the tournament by defeating the Netherlands and then Sri Lanka. But after the crushing defeat against India in the third match, the Pakistan team was exposed and lost two matches in a row. With Babar Azam’s captaincy being questioned after the loss against Afghanistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board has also issued a statement hinting at major changes. In the meantime, former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif has made a big revelation that captain Babar Azam had called PCB management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf via message, to which he is not responding.
Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif speaking to Pakistani channel PT said, “News is something that can be stopped, it’s easy. There’s a lot going on in Pakistan media, maybe it’s fake news.” Let us tell you the real news. Captain Babar Azam messaged and called PCB Management Committee Chairman Ashraf Sahib but he is not responding. The captain also contacted Usman and Salman Nasir. He also did not give any answer.
He continued, “Now Ashraf sir is telling the players that we will look at the central contract again… This is not right, we will look at it again, this contract will not be considered, the players have not got salary. Last five months.”
Pakistan team lost by 8 wickets against a low ranked team like Afghanistan. Pakistan has also been defeated by India and Australia. Pakistan team is sixth in the points table with two wins and three losses in 5 matches.
