Heroes of Philanthropy: IT company Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, DLF chairman emeritus KP Singh and Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath have also joined the list of charitable businessmen. These three businessmen have been included in the 17th edition of Forbes Asia’s ‘Heroes of Philanthropy’. However, no ranking has been given to anyone in this list. Who gave such a big donation: According to Forbes, Nandan Nilekani in June gave IIT Bombay Rs. 3.2 billion (US $ 38 million) was donated. At the same time, KP Singh (age-92 years) sold his remaining direct stake in the real estate company for philanthropic work in August and out of it Rs. 7.3 billion was collected. KP Singh resigned as chairman of DLF in 2020. Nikhil Kamath (37 years) of Zerodha’s YouTube podcast series ‘WTF Is’ will donate Rs. 1 crore (US$120,000) is being donated.

Other major philanthropists
Others on the list globally include Keynes’ Takemitsu Takizaki (Japan), who donated $2.6 billion to his foundation. Fortescue Metals Group’s Andrew Forrest and wife Nicola Forrest gave $3.3 billion to their Minderoo Foundation. Billionaire Low Tak Kwang donated $73 million to the Lee Kuan Yew School through his foundation (Indonesia).
