The Prime Minister wanted to know from the students about their participation in sports.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday interacted with around 250 underprivileged students from almost every district of Jammu and Kashmir, who are touring the country under the “Know the Country-Youth Exchange” programme. An official statement said the dialogue program held at the Prime Minister’s residence was informal. These students are visiting Jaipur, Ajmer and New Delhi under the Central Government programme.

The statement said that in the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’, the purpose of the visit is to introduce the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to the cultural and social diversity of the country. The Prime Minister asked the students about their travel experiences and the popular places they visited and discussed with them the rich sports culture of Jammu and Kashmir.
The statement said the Prime Minister wanted to know from the students about their participation in sports and cited the example of young archer Sheetal Devi from Jammu and Kashmir, who won three medals at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou. Modi also praised the talent of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and said that they have the potential to achieve excellence in any field. He advised the students to work and contribute to the development of the country and help realize the dream of ‘Developed India’ by 2047, the statement said.
Regarding the construction of the world’s highest railway bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, Modi said that it will improve connectivity in the region. The success of Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1 missions were also discussed. The Prime Minister said that these scientific achievements have made every Indian proud.
Regarding the record number of tourists coming to Jammu and Kashmir this year, Modi said that there is immense potential in the tourism sector there. The statement said that the Prime Minister encouraged the students to practice yoga every day. The cleanliness campaign in the country and the successful organization of the G-20 Summit in Kashmir were also discussed.
Later, the Prime Minister, in a post on social media platform ‘X’, said, “Had a memorable interaction with the students of Jammu and Kashmir. Their enthusiasm and energy is truly admirable.” He was seen expressing happiness on meeting Modi.
While some students spoke enthusiastically about the development works initiated by the government in the union territory, one girl said she liked Prime Minister Modi’s comment that he is not the most tired from work.
