The PMO said that inspired by the Prime Minister’s vision of implementing the principle of cooperative federalism, the National Conference of Chief Secretaries is organized to promote participatory governance and partnership between the Center and state governments.
This year the National Conference of Chief Secretaries will be held from December 27 to 29. More than 200 people, including representatives of the central government, chief secretaries and other senior officials from all states and union territories, will participate in the three-day convention.
The PMO said the conference will lay the foundation for collaborative action to achieve the goal of improving the quality of life for both rural and urban populations by strengthening the delivery mechanisms of government interventions. According to the PMO, the conference will focus on implementing a common development agenda and prepare a blueprint for joint action in partnership with states.
The five sub-themes discussed at the conference include land and property, electricity, drinking water, health and school education, with special emphasis on easy access to welfare schemes and quality in service delivery.
In addition, sessions on Cyber Security: Emerging Challenges, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Ground Stories: Aspirational Block and District Programmes, Role of States: Rational Schemes and Autonomous Institutions and Increasing Capital Expenditure, AI in Governance: Challenges and Special Occasions will be organised.
Besides, discussions will focus on schemes and topics like de-addiction and rehabilitation, Amrit Sarovar, tourism promotion, branding and role of states, PM Vishwakarma Yojana and PM Swanidhi.
Best practices of states and union territories under each topic will also be presented at the conference so that states can replicate the success achieved in any other state or act according to their needs.
