Rising New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra said he took up the game because of his father’s love for cricket.
Rachin performed strongly in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He scored 578 runs in 10 matches at an average of 106.44 with three centuries and two fifties. Rachin Ravindra also bowled on a few occasions and managed to take a total of 5 wickets. In such a situation, many IPL teams are eyeing him, but Rachin says that there is no guarantee that he will be picked in the IPL.
In an interview to ESPNcricinfo, he said that there are no guarantees in life and cricket. “Whether it’s noise or what’s being reported, I think what’s important is the series you’re facing right now. There’s still a lot of time in the IPL. There’s no guarantee. My pick (in the auction) will be done. There are no guarantees in life and cricket. My focus is only on what’s in front of me: the Bangladesh Test series. You live in the present, you enjoy the moment. “Any chance I get to play for New Zealand, I go for it. Thank you very much.”

Above .Mom and Dad always used to throw plastic balls at me. I always wanted to bat or bowl. This culminated to where I am today. They never pushed me to play cricket. It came naturally. It happened. I really wanted to play cricket. It was fun. My mates. I loved going to the nets every day, hitting and bowling. I think that’s what happened.”
