Rahul Dravid Head Coach Tenure: With the sad end to Team India’s campaign in the World Cup 2023, head coach Rahul Dravid’s tenure has also come to an end. After Ravi Shastri, Dravid took the reins of the Indian team along with Rohit Sharma. During Dravid’s tenure, India played in one World Test Championship final, one T20 World Cup and one ODI World Cup, but even that could not end the ICC trophy drought. India is now scheduled to play a 5-match T20 series against Australia from November 23 and will also tour South Africa after that. BCCI will soon announce whether Rahul Dravid’s contract will be renewed or Team India will get a new coach.
Rohit Sharma is the world’s unluckiest player in terms of World Cup, know how
After the World Cup final, Dravid said about his future with Team India, ‘I haven’t thought about it. I just finished the match. I don’t have time to think about it and I don’t even have time to think about it. Yes, I will do that when I have time, but right now my full focus is on this campaign. I was focused on this World Cup and nothing else was on my mind. And I didn’t think much about what would happen in the future.

Rahul Dravid achieved a lot of success as a coach in junior cricket, but after becoming the head coach of Team India, he could not win a single ICC trophy for India. Under his guidance, India finished runners-up in the 2016 U-19 Cricket World Cup and won the 2018 U-19 World Cup.
Apart from this, he is also credited for grooming rising Indian stars including Rishabh Pant, Ishaan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer and Washington Sundar.
After coaching the junior teams for four years, Dravid was appointed as the Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in July 2019.

How was India’s journey to the World Cup final?
On 8 October, Team India started their World Cup 2023 campaign by defeating Australia. After this, the team chased down the target and registered victories against Afghanistan, arch-rivals Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. When it looked like the team was running in one direction, India showed the world that they know how to set a target and defend it. India then won all 9 matches in the group stage by defeating England by 100 runs, Sri Lanka by 302 runs, South Africa by 243 runs and the Netherlands by 160 runs.
India faced a tough challenge from New Zealand in the semi-final, but in this match too, Team India posted a huge score of 397 runs on the board and put the Kiwi team on the back foot and won the match by 70 runs. India performed brilliantly throughout the World Cup, but the final day was not in the name of Team India.
