Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday donated to the party’s ‘Donate for Desh’ campaign launched to collect donations from the general public in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, saying it was his vision for a “harmonious and progressive” India. “I request you all to donate and be a part of the movement to save India’s soul,” wrote Kartaba Gandhi on social media platform ‘X’.

He also shared a video of contributing to the ‘Desh Ma Daan’ campaign but did not reveal the amount he donated. Gandhi asked Congress treasurer Ajay Maken how much money the party would collect. Makan said there is no set target, but the amount will be more than expected. Makane told the former party chief that so far Maharashtra has contributed the most under the campaign, followed by Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
The Congress on Monday launched a campaign called ‘Desh Ma Daan’ to collect donations from the general public a few months before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge launched the campaign at a program here. He himself contributed Rs 1.38 lakh. Makan said through ‘X’ that the party had collected Rs 1 crore 45 lakh till 9 am.
