New Delhi. Former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth has a deep connection with controversies. As a cricketer, Sreesanth has been in the news many times for the wrong reasons. Sometimes slapping scandal with Harbhajan sometimes spot fixing. Now once again Sreesanth is in trouble. In fact, a young man named Sarish Gopalan from Kerala has accused him of fraud.

The case is that Sarish Gopalan, a resident of Kannur district in Kerala, has demanded action against Sreesanth and two people. Sarish says that in the year 2019, Rajeev Kumar and Venkatesh Kini took 18.70 lakh rupees from him asking them to build a sports academy. This academy was to be established in Kollur. Rajeev and Venkatesh had told Sarish that Sreesanth would be their third partner. However, Sreesanth has said that he is not involved in any such financial transactions or any other activity.

Sarish says that he stopped the money only after Sreesanth’s name came up. But the academy has not been formed yet. Also Sarish’s money has not been returned. After Sarish’s statement, the Kerala Police registered a case against the three Venkatesh, Rajeev and Sreesanth. Sreesanth is being considered as the third accused in this case. However, nothing is clear yet. Is Sreesanth accused in this case or not? It will be confirmed only after investigation. The police have registered a case under Section 402 of the IPC against Sreesanth and his two associates.

Arrested for spot fixing
Sreesanth was arrested for spot-fixing in IPL 2013, when he was part of the Rajasthan Royals team. Rajasthan’s Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chavan were also implicated in the case. BCCI banned Sreesanth for life. After a lengthy trial, the Delhi High Court acquitted Sreesanth of the charges. After this BCCI also reduced Sreesanth’s ban to 7 years.
