Sai Sudarshan made a dream ODI debut on Sunday. He scored a brilliant half-century in his first international match. Sudarshan, who came as an opener, scored an unbeaten 55 off 43 balls in the first ODI against South Africa in Johannesburg. He hit 9 fours. Left-handed batsman Sudarshan has created history by scoring a fifty. He has entered the mighty club of Indian openers. In fact, Sudarshan became the fourth Indian opener to score 50-plus runs on ODI debut.
Before Sudarshan, this feat was achieved by KL Rahul, Robin Uthappa and Faiz Fazal. Rahul is the Indian opening batsman who has made the biggest ODI debut. He scored an unbeaten 100 against Zimbabwe in 2016. Uthappa scored 86 against England in 2006. Fazal scored an unbeaten 55 against Zimbabwe in 2016. At the same time, Sudarshan is the 17th Indian player overall to score 50 plus runs on ODI debut. Sudarshan completed his fifty in 41 balls.
