New Delhi:
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Lahar Singh Siroya has hit out at the Congress over caste discrimination in Karnataka. He said that Congress does not seem to be in favor of caste enumeration in Karnataka. In such a situation, should this stand of the Pradesh Congress be seen as a rebellion against Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge? Laharsinh also targeted Rahul Gandhi and called him ‘Panauti’ for the party.

“The situation is very serious”
Lahar Singh has said in his statement that the situation regarding caste enumeration in Karnataka Congress is very serious. And this is like open rebellion against big leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Kharge. This is also because some time ago Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge were touring the country demanding caste enumeration due to strong opposition from PM Modi.
“Rahul Gandhi should take action against leaders”
If Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Khadge are serious about their talk then they should take strict action against those leaders of Karnataka Congress and sack those leaders who are not in favor of conducting caste census. And if Rahul Gandhi doesn’t do this then it is clear that he is fooling the country. And they should not suppress castes on the basis of census.
Vokkalinga and Lingayat leaders oppose caste enumeration
Lahar Singh has also alleged missing reports of caste census data in Karnataka. He said that all the Vokkalinga and Lingayat leaders of the Karnataka Congress were against making the caste census data public. Karnataka Government Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President DK Shivakumar has signed a letter protesting the release of caste census data. Lahar Singh said that if Rahul Gandhi and Khadge are serious about caste enumeration then they should take action against all these leaders.
CM does not want to make the report public
It may be noted that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is currently in no mood to release the caste census report in Karnataka, at least till next year’s Lok Sabha elections. The OBC Commission has completed its preparations. Social and Educational Survey i.e. Cast Census Report is almost ready. Karnataka OBC Commission Chairman Jai Prakash Hegde said a few days ago that I cannot tell you what is in this report, I just want to say that I am submitting the report.
There is more pressure due to two castes
According to sources, according to the information received about this report, the population of Scheduled Castes and Muslims is more than that of Lingayats and Vokkaligas, meaning that the common belief about the supremacy of Lingayats and Vokkaligas will end. It is being said that due to the pressure of these two castes, no Chief Minister could dare to make the report public so far, but now the government is under pressure from Muslims and Scheduled Castes. Regarding this report, CM Siddaramaiah has said that I will get this report in November or December. And we cannot release him immediately. The report will go to the Cabinet and then there is a process, under which it will be decided when to release it.
