Mumbai:
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) founder Sharad Pawar delivered a speech amidst rain on Sunday, bringing back memories of the crucial speech he delivered in October 2019. It is said that his party benefited from that speech during the last assembly elections in Maharashtra. In the evening, Pawar attended a party event in Navi Mumbai, where it had been raining since morning. As soon as he started his speech, it started to rain lightly. However, veteran leader Pawar, who turns 83 next month, remained adamant.

He said amid the rain, “Our plans here have been disrupted due to the rain today. But we are a people who will not give up so easily, will not back down. We need to continue our struggle in the future as well.” Pictures and videos of the rain-soaked NCP chief at the event soon went viral on social media, reminding his supporters of his address four years ago.
On October 18, 2019, three days before the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Pawar was in Satara to campaign in favor of the NCP candidate for the Lok Sabha by-election. Meanwhile, he gave a speech drenched in heavy rain. His party won 54 seats in this election, 13 more than in 2014.
