The stock market got off to a sluggish start on Friday, the last trading day of the week. Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) 30 Sensex opened down 17 points at 66000. Whereas, Nifty of National Stock Exchange today started the day at 19809 level. Sensex was up 24 points at 66042 in early trade. While Nifty was trading at 19822 level with an increase of 20 points.
Nifty’s top gainers include stocks like Cipla, Divis Lab, Dr Reddy, Grasim and NTPC, while Nifty’s top losers include TCS, BPCL, Bharti Airtel, Kotak Bank and Bajaj Auto. Hindustan Unilever was the top loser in Sensex. If we talk about the sectoral indices, except for Nifty Auto and IT, all were in the green.

In early trading, 1896 shares were traded on NSE. Of these, 1451 were bullish while 354 were in the red. On the other hand there was no change in 91. By early morning, upper circuit was imposed on 43 stocks, while lower circuit was imposed on 9 stocks. At the same time, 61 stocks had 52 new week highs and 6 new lows.
Thursday Status: Sensex, Nifty close steady in volatile trading.
In volatile trading, both the benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed almost flat on Thursday. The Sensex was down 5.43 points or 0.01 percent at 66,017.81. During trading, it touched a high of 66,235.24 points, while it touched a low of 65,980.50 points. The Nifty slipped 9.85 points or 0.05 percent to close at 19,802 points.
