The admission process for the new academic session will start soon in all Atal residential schools in the state. After approval from the government, Director General Atal Residential School Nisha Anant has issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for this. This time admission will be taken in class 9 along with class 6. All the boards will conduct the entrance exam in the last week of January or first week of February. As per CM Yogi Adityanath’s instruction, 50 percent seats in all schools have been reserved for girl students.
Atal residential schools have been opened by the state government in all the 18 divisions. Each school with a capacity of one thousand will admit 140 in class VI and 140 in class IX in the new session, half of whom will be female students. The process of selection of students by the Divisional Operational Monitoring Committee of the Divisional Commissioner will be conducted by the Financial Monitoring Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of DM.
Applicants for Class VI must be born between May 1, 2012 and July 31, 2014, while for Class IX admission, only children born between May 1, 2009 and July 31, 2011 can apply. SC and OBC will be exempted from this. For admission of children of workers, their registration with the BOCW Board should be three years old as on December 31, 2023.
