New Delhi. On the back of Henrik Klaasen’s storming century, the South African team is back on the winning track in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The Proteas beat the reigning champions England (SA vs ENG) by 229 runs to register their third win in 4 matches, while this is England’s third loss in four matches. Before this, England had to face defeat against Afghanistan in the last match. The Proteas team suffered a humiliating defeat against the Netherlands in their last match. Hendricks and Dusen added 121 runs for the second wicket
Openers Riza Hendricks (85 runs) and Rasi van der Deusen (60 runs) laid the foundations for a big score with a 121-run partnership for the second wicket. Henrik Klaasen completed his third century of the year in the 47th over of the innings off Mark Wood for a six and a four off 61 balls. Klaassen and Jensen put on 151 runs for the sixth wicket in just 77 balls, which is now the record for South Africa against England in ODI and World Cup history.
