Mumbai. In 2015, director SS Rajamouli’s film Baahubali was released and the fortunes of the southern film industry opened up. Baahubali created a lot of buzz at the box office and also showed a mirror to the weak films of Bollywood. After this film, the wave of south industry films started. After this South filmmakers made Bollywood famous by making films like Pushpa, RRR and KGF. However, in 2023, Shah Rukh Khan brought the old branch of Bollywood back to the box office. But Bollywood still seems to be giving way to South films. A recent example of this is the Vijay Thalapathi starrer Leo. Released on October 19, the film Leo has beaten the Bollywood film Ganpat at the box office.
