The stock market got off to a sluggish start on the first trading day of the last week of 2023. After three consecutive closes, BSE’s 30-share sensitive index Sensex opened down 9 points at 71097 on Tuesday, while the Nifty 50 opened the day’s trade up 15 points at 21365. Stocks like Tata Steel, NTPC, Nestle, Reliance, Ultratech were the top gainers in Sensex in early trade. While, the top losers were Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra.
The Sensex was up just 7 points at 7114 in early trade. While Nifty was trading at the level of 21010 with a decrease of 137 points. 10 stocks of the Nifty 50 were in the red and were trading at 21358 with a marginal gain of 9 points.
Nifty Top Losers: Sensex-Nifty momentum seems to be slowing due to weakness in tech stocks. Infosys declined 2.04 percent to Rs. was trading at 1531. Wipro was 1.55 percent weaker at Rs. was at 455.50. HCL Tech also with red mark Rs. Was trading at 1450. Tech Mahindra also fell by 0.85 to Rs. was at 1264.3. TCS also weakened by 0.68 percent at Rs. was trading at 3798.
Nifty Top Gainers: UPL, Tata Consumer, NTPC, Tata Steel and Hero Motacorp were among the Nifty’s top gainers in early trade today. UPL increased by 1.56 percent to Rs. was trading at 590.70. While Tata Consumer increased by 1.45 percent to Rs. was at 1007.20. NTPC rose 1.37 percent to Rs. 306.95 was reached. Another Tata Group stock, Tata Steel rose 1.35 percent to Rs. was at 135.35. Hero MotoCorp gained 1.28 percent.
