New Delhi. An actor-producer from Gujarat has been arrested in Mumbai on charges of extorting a minor girl by luring her for a role in a film. Police gave this information on Tuesday.
The incident took place late on Monday night, when the 17-year-old girl, a resident of Gujarat, was alone in a hotel room in the western suburbs. The accused knew the victim’s uncle and met her once hoping to get a break in films.
The actor-producer allegedly molested her after seeing her alone in a hotel room in Andheri on Monday. Later, the shocked girl filed a complaint at the DN Nagar police station in Andheri West.
A police team raided the hotel where the accused was staying and arrested him. According to officials, he has been charged under various sections of IPC and POCSO. Further investigations are underway.
