That means there will be 5 teams in each group while each has to play 4 matches each. The top 2 teams from each group will advance to the Super 8. Here too there will be 2 groups. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. After this the semi-final and final will be played. West Indies and USA get direct entry into the T20 World Cup by being the hosts. The top-8 teams of the last T20 World Cup, Australia, England, India, Netherlands, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka will also be seen playing. Based on the T20 ranking, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have got the opportunity to play the T20 World Cup.
8 teams get a chance from the qualifiers
Apart from 12 teams, 8 teams will enter the T20 World Cup by playing qualifiers. After the Europe qualifiers, Ireland and Scotland qualified for the ICC tournament by finishing on top. Papua New Guinea from the East Asia-Pacific qualifiers, Canada from the Americas qualifiers and Nepal and Oman from the Asia qualifiers qualified for the World Cup. The Africa Qualifier matches are being played from November 22 to 30. Two teams are going to get World Cup tickets from here too. 7 teams including Zimbabwe and Kenya are entering it.
