The war between Israel and Hamas continues on the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army is selectively targeting Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza said at least 70 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on several homes in the refugee camp late Sunday. The ministry said the attack destroyed homes in al-Maghazi camp in the heart of the Palestinian territory. AFP The attack has not been confirmed.
“The number of soldiers martyred in the al-Maghazi massacre has now reached 70,” said ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra. The Israeli military, contacted by AFP, said it was “investigating” the report. Earlier, Kudra had said that the attack had destroyed a “residential block” and feared that the death toll would rise as a large number of families lived there.
In another incident, the ministry said 10 members of a family were killed in an Israeli attack on their home in Jabalia camp in northern Gaza.

The UN secretary-general said a ceasefire was ‘absolutely essential’ to deliver aid effectively. The proposal, prepared by the United Arab Emirates, was intensively debated for several days, after which the 15-nation council adopted it on Friday. The motion received 13 votes in favor, none against, while Russia and the United States did not participate in the vote. The proposal does not mention a ceasefire and for this reason experts term it ‘weak’.
