Team India, after registering 8 consecutive wins in the tournament, came to play against the Netherlands to continue their winning streak. Captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first and put in a bang with Shubman Gill. Both were dismissed with half-centuries but Shreyas Iyer, coming in at number four, once again scored a huge century.
Ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup being played in India, there are concerns about Team India’s middle order. Shreyar Iyer completely removed this weakness of the team with his batting while returning from injury. The batsman, who played consecutive half-centuries, scored a century in the World Cup in the last league match.
For the Indian team, Shreyas Iyer scored a half-century in 48 balls by hitting 6 fours. Along with Virat Kohli and then KL Rahul, he got the innings going. After scoring his fifty, the batsman stepped up his game and completed his century by hitting 9 fours and 2 sixes. Shreyas Iyer faced 84 balls to complete his 100 runs.
