Ahead of Diwali, shopping in the markets has intensified. In this sequence, the desi look of Norway’s ambassador in India, Elin Steiner, is going viral. She said through a social media post that she recently bought her first saree in preparation for Diwali celebrations. She tried different colored sarees. In the post, she has also shown her husband’s desi style.
In a social media post, Norway’s ambassador to India Elin Steiner said it was a “difficult choice” as there are so many colours, fabrics and textures. Sharing a photo collage of her in three different sarees, she said, “Been in India for 8 weeks and going to buy my first saree for Diwali! It was a tough choice between all the fabrics, colors and weaves. What amazing craftsmanship!
Opinions were also sought from people
Through a social media post, Aline also sought people’s opinion on which color saree she should shop with. She asked- I’ll go with red. What do you think?” She said that her husband is also planning to wear traditional attire on the festival. Wrote- “Husband is becoming Indian too! Picking out his kurta was easy.”
Since being shared, his post has been viewed 2.7 lakh times and received more than seven thousand likes. “We have enough festivals to cover all sarees and kurtas in India,” said one user. Another said, “Madam Ambassador, you look so beautiful in all these colors and I must say, how do you know how to wear them?” A third said: “You look amazing.”
One person commented, “You look amazing in all of these. Buy all or go for red. Red is my favorite.” One person commented, “Red! This is the color of our civilization. You are glowing in this. Even your husband looks attractive.”
It may be noted that Elin Steiner is the new Ambassador of Norway to India and he met President Draupadi Murmu in August this year. He said at the time, “I am very happy to finally be back in India and look forward to experiencing this vast and diverse country. I believe that Norway and India have a strong bond together, and I hope that the partnership will further will be strong. During my tenure. India is culturally diverse and I look forward to immersing myself in its various aspects. Thank you for the warm welcome, India”.
