In Myanmar, the junta army is fighting People’s Defense Force (PDF) rebels. These rebels are constantly challenging the military regime. Because of this, hundreds of Myanmar citizens are stuck near the border seeking refuge
Unrest has increased in Mizoram, which borders Myanmar. Meanwhile, the Indian Army’s Assam Rifles met village chiefs and leaders of civil society groups in Mizoram’s settlements near the Myanmar border. The current situation of Myanmar was discussed in this meeting.

6 districts of Mizoram share international border with Myanmar
The six districts of Mizoram, Champhai, Siyaha, Longthalai, Serchip, Hanathiyal and Saitul share a 510 km long unfenced international border with the Chinese state of Myanmar. The Assam Rifles guard the Indo-Myanmar border.
Caste conflict continues between the Kuki-Meitei community in Manipur
Mizoram’s neighboring state of Manipur has witnessed ethnic conflict between the hill-dominant Kuki tribes and the valley-majority Meitei community over land, resources and declining political power amid rising numbers of refugees and illegal immigrants. Clashes between two communities have been going on since May 3 in Manipur.
