Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has recommended the Lt. Governor to suspend DPCC (Delhi Pollution Control Committee) current chairman Ashwini Kumar. According to sources, the DPCC chief has been accused of obstructing steps being taken by the Delhi government to fight rising pollution.

Earlier, Environment Minister Gopal Rai had recommended the Chief Minister to suspend Ashwini Kumar.
Not only this, the environment minister also alleged that Ashwini Kumar had closed the SMOG tower by the decision of the Supreme Court and the decision of the Delhi Cabinet.
The Supreme Court expressed displeasure over the pollution
Today the Supreme Court also expressed its displeasure over the closure of the SMOG tower. The Supreme Court asked the Delhi government when the smog tower would become operational. He also said that we don’t know how the government will start the SMOG tower, but it should start immediately.
The Supreme Court has directed Delhi Pollution Control Committee Chairman Ashwini Kumar to appear in person during the next hearing.
