The Congress on Thursday did not clarify its stand on whether the party’s top leaders would attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. However, the party said it was grateful for the invitation. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Sonia Gandhi and party leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary have been invited for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya on January 22.

Sources said that the Shree Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust has sent an invitation to him. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal was asked at a press conference if party leaders would attend the event, to which he said, “You will get to know the party’s stand. You will know about the participation on January 22.” Venugopal said, “They have invited us, we are very grateful to them for inviting us. should.”
Sources said invitations were personally sent to Khadge, Gandhi and Chaudhary. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and H.D. Devegowda has also received an invitation. Sources said the invitation was given by a delegation of people associated with the trust. He said that invitations are likely to be sent to other opposition leaders in the coming days.
