Lucknow Bench of High Court has ordered the Basic Education Department to complete the process by preparing the merit list based on the revised marks in the matter of one mark dispute in the 69 thousand assistant teacher recruitment exam.
On November 22, the High Court framed contempt charges against Basic Education Board Secretary Pratap Singh Baghel and Examination Regulatory Authority Secretary Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi. After this, taking immediate action, the applicant was awarded one extra mark. This information was given to the court while passing its order dated 15th December.
On this the court dismissed the contempt petition and also ordered the department to complete the process by preparing the merit list based on the revised numbers. A single bench of Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan gave this order on the contempt plea of petitioner Surangama. The court said, if the process is not completed in time, the petitioner can file an application to reinstate the contempt petition.
The officers were accused of contempt
In the said recruitment examination, the Writ Court passed an order to appoint the candidates as per the merit cut off coefficient by increasing one mark on the question relating to educational definition. The government filed an appeal against this order in the Supreme Court, but the appeal was dismissed on 9 November 2022. However, the order of the writ court was not followed and the court on November 22 framed contempt charges against the above officials.
