CSBC Constable Exam: EOU lodges first FIR in paper leak case, 74 cases reported across state

CSBC constable paper leak: After nearly a month of investigation into the constable paper leak case in the state, the EOU (Economic Offenses Unit) registered the first FIR on Saturday. However, no one was named in it. A case has been registered based on 74 FIRs registered across the state, vital information received from helpline numbers and e-mails. In the FIR, besides making the constable’s question paper go viral, administrators and administrators of more than half a dozen groups created on WhatsApp and Telegram have been targeted for extorting money from candidates. A case has been registered referring to his role throughout this episode. The accused will be arrested after the investigation is completed.

To investigate the paper leak case, the EOU has constituted a 23-member SIT (Special Investigation Team) headed by DIG Manavjit Singh Dhillon. On October 1, after the constable recruitment written exam question paper went viral and was leaked at several places, 74 FIRs related to it were registered in more than a dozen districts. A week later, the responsibility of investigating the entire case was handed over to the EOU and on 7 October the EOU constituted a 23-member SIT. Many candidates said that they were asked to give the question paper on WhatsApp and Telegram. Some asked to give the question paper from somewhere before the exam. Money was also demanded in return. During this period, the EOU received some very special information. The matter has been investigated to a great extent in the investigations so far from the EOU level.
