The South African team has strengthened its grip on the Boxing Day Test match being played against India in Centurion. After shaking up Team India’s batting order on the first day of the match on the back of fast bowler Kagiso Rabada’s 5 wickets, they managed to wrap it up cheaply on the second day. From the Indian team, KL Rahul bravely faced the Proteas bowlers and scored a century. India somehow managed to reach the score of 245 runs thanks to this unique innings.
Elgar shone in the last series
South African legend Dean Elgar has announced his retirement ahead of the series against India. In the last Test series of his career, this great batsman batted fearlessly and scored a blistering century. He completed his fifty with 10 fours in 79 balls and his century with 19 fours in 140 balls. This is the batsman’s first Test century in Centurion. The trouble for India is that Elgar returned unbeaten on 140 off 211 balls on the next day.
India took 5 wickets
Even though South Africa seem to be in good shape in the Centurion Test, Team India can reverse on the third day. With the score currently at 256 for 5 and a lead of just 11 runs, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj can take advantage of the humidity in the first session of the day and prevent South Africa from taking a big early lead. On the second day of the wicket match, both the bowlers took 2 wickets each.
