New Delhi. The picture of the semi-finals of the ICC ODI World Cup being played in India is almost clear. After India, South Africa and Australia, they made it to the next round. New Zealand, Pakistan and Afghanistan competed for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament. New Zealand almost ended it with a big win against Sri Lanka. There is little hope left for Pakistan. An impossible goal has to be achieved.
Now the road to the semi-finals is almost closed for Pakistan in the ICC ODI World Cup. The Pakistan team was watching the match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Babar Azam hoped that either the rain would spoil the match or the Sri Lankan team would defeat New Zealand but neither happened. Neither did the rain and in contrast New Zealand ended the match before 25 overs.
Pakistan will be eliminated even if they win
Even if the Pakistan team wins the last match against England, they will not be able to register a victory that will take them to the semi-finals. After New Zealand’s one-sided win against Sri Lanka, now Babar Azam’s team has to win against England by 287 runs. If he bats later, he has to complete the match in 2.4 overs. In such a situation, even if Pakistan manages to win here, it will be impossible to solve the equation.
