Moscow. Artificial engineering is directly benefiting farmers in Russia. Taking advantage of artificial engineering, farmers have started using self-driving tractors. In this regard, Russian news agency TASS (TASS) has said that farmers are getting direct benefit from this new technology. The mass introduction of AI-based (artificial intelligence) autonomous tractors has begun in the Russian agro-industrial sector, TASS reported on Tuesday, citing developer Cognitive Pilot.
The company, which is manufacturing the Cognitive Agro Pilot autonomous driving system for agricultural machinery based on AI technology, said the system has no analogues in the world. The developer asserts that automated plowing through automated trucks can increase farm productivity by 25% and help save 20-40% more inputs like fertilizer and seeds. Cognitive Pilot has reported the operation of a tractor equipped with an AI-based Cognitive Agro Pilot system in Russia.
312 tractors hit Russian farms from March to November
In total, smart machinery plowed more than 2.3 million hectares of land, the company’s press service told TASS. In total, 312 tractors equipped with Cognitive Agro Pilot are operating on Russian farms from March to November, the report said. Using the system has helped farmers save an average of 2.6 million rubles ($28,700) per 1,000-hectare farm, or more than 5 billion rubles ($56 million) overall.
