Actually, Pataudi Palace was a royal palace, established in the year 1804 during the rule of the East India Company. The first ruler of this state was Faiz Talab Khan, ancestor of Nawab Saif Ali Khan. Talab Khan came to India from Afghanistan and this flag flying on the dome of the palace belongs to Pataudi state. This is the reason why this flag is still flying in Pataudi Palace.
