Rahul Dravid: Dravid talked about winning the series on African soil
Rahul Dravid on India vs South Africa Test Series: The Indian cricket team is currently on a tour of South Africa and the two-Test series between the two countries begins on Tuesday, December 26. The Indian team has never won a Test series on the tour of South Africa so the team will be eyeing to win the series this time. However, Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid feels that the team will also need some luck to win the Test series on the current tour of South Africa. The Indian team toured South Africa for the first time in 1992. However, the team has not managed to win any of the eight Test series in that country in the last 31 years. The Indian team, which has tasted success in countries like England, Australia and New Zealand, has registered only four wins in 23 Tests in South Africa.

“We came close many times and we played some good cricket here. We didn’t dominate in some important moments. There were many chances,” Dravid told ‘Star Sports’ ahead of the opening match of the two-match series. At times it looked like if the team had scored 40-50 more runs here, they could have put up a bigger challenge.”
The former great batsman said that the way India bowled in the last tour two years ago will boost the team’s confidence a lot. The Indian team lost the series 1-2 after taking a 1-0 lead in the previous tour. “I think we bowled very well on the last tour. This will give us a lot of confidence that our bowling attack has the ability to take 20 wickets in these conditions,” he said.
Dravid said, “You also need a bit of luck in these situations, there are many chances that slip away from you. There are times when the ball goes too close to the bat. You want to be lucky and the ball goes to the opposing team’s batsmen. comes out with the edge of the bat.” Dravid said, “But luck can be with you only if you use your skills well and make sure you are hitting the ball in the right area. You maintain your discipline and patience when required.”
When asked about debutant fast bowler Prasid Krishna, the Indian coach said, “Prishad is a good bowler but we have to be realistic that this is his first Test match. For various reasons, he doesn’t have much experience in first-class cricket. I hope He will perform well and enjoy the game. It is a beautiful moment when we give someone a new cap.
