The trading window for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is underway. The franchise is exchanging players. Now a big news has come out in this series. Fast bowler Avesh Khan will not play for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) next season. LSAG traded Avesh to Rajasthan Royals (RR). In exchange for Avesh, RR’s lethal batsman Devdutt Padikal will join LSG. Let us tell you that LSG spent Rs 10 crore on Avesh last year while RRA spent Rs 7.75 crore on Padikal.
According to an ESPNcricinfo report, Avesh is on his way to Rajasthan from Lucknow. Padikal will replace the insert. The franchise and the player agreed to a trade last week. The BCCI may approve the exchange this week. Awash made his IPL debut in 2017 from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He has also been part of Delhi Capitals (DC). Whereas, Padikkal made his debut for RCB in 2020. 2023 has been a very bad season for both the players.
Awash took only 8 wickets in 9 matches last season. Padikal could not properly fulfill his responsibility at the top of the order. He scored 261 runs in 11 matches at an average of 26.10. Avesh has played a total of 47 matches and got 55 dismissals in the IPL. Padikal has scored 1521 runs in 57 matches. Notably, this is only the second trade ahead of the 2024 season after Lucknow traded Romario Shepherd to the Mumbai Indians earlier this month. The IPL has set November 26 as the last date for franchisees to declare their retention list. The auction of players will be held on December 19 in Dubai.
