Indian team’s star batsman KL Rahul has revealed in an interview to Star Sports that when he was going through an injury or bad form, people used to criticize him a lot. He said that many things hurt you more than you expect, which you don’t even expect. In an interview, Rahul spoke about how he faced criticism and moved on from it. Rahul has put India in a better position with a century in the first innings of the first match of the two-match Test series against South Africa.

KL Rahul said in an interview to Star Sports, “You cannot change people. You have the freedom to say what you feel and some of that stuff was very hurtful at the time, it really was. Looking back now, I think I could have seen it from a different perspective. But it also has a lot to do with where you are personally. At that time I was not mentally in a position to bear such criticism.

She added, “At a young age, I felt that there was something inside of me, a voice or an energy that always felt right. Like I always felt that I was on the right track. As always, I am very grateful that I chose the career that I did.” That I really enjoy, and that I wanted to do.”

Rahul continued, “So whenever I find myself in such a situation, what am I doing? Why am I going through these injuries? Or why so many people are criticizing me? I always thought this was what I wanted. So this is part of our game. I think it’s part of the journey and you need to balance the good and the bad and it’s all about your growth process as a person. And that is the story of your becoming stronger as a person. And as you become stronger as a person, it reflects in what you do professionally.”
